She attends his Shivah while keeping her identity under wraps, entering a world once forbidden to her. Through encounters with his brother, parents, and his wife, she examines her place in his life and eventually demands her legitimate right to mourn. Sharply observed and nuanced, The Other Widow is an impressive debut for writer-director Ma’ayan Rypp.
